History / background:

The Seiko LM was produced from its first year in July 1968 well into the late 1970s. The first models were produced without the LM logo on the dial. From late 1969 onwards, the LM models had the LM logo. The inclusion of the logo was still not consistent and did vary over the years. There were actually 4 variations of this model, including 2 different bracelets and 2 different hand sets, one with inlay and one without. The base movement for the LM is actually the 56 base from King Seiko, which was up market and very sleek (thin) for that period. The 36mm case was rather sizable for that period and still wears nice for the current era in my opinion. The hacking function is very useful to set the time precisely and check the accuracy of the timekeeping. The earlier models of LM were solid casebooks, including the 5606-7000, which provided bedwetter waterproofing compared to screw back case backs of that time.

welcome back today we're having a look

at one of the iconic seiko lord matics

one of the most popular models and in

fact one of the best sellers

these always sell very fast

this case is a 36 by 42 by 6 millimeter

piece

it's very sleek but it certainly doesn't

feel small in fact it rides the wrist

very very nicely this was

my first seiko lord matic model that i

ever bought some years ago and

i didn't really realize how nice it

would ride the wrist it's just balanced

and designed so well look at this case

original crystal you can tell because it

is flat

across the top and it

kind of comes inward just a little bit

this is an original sunburst dial

in fantastic condition i never

pass up a 5606 7000 with such a nice

dial the case hey something to scream

about really is and

these are 19 millimeter logs

this is the original crown nothing here

is a replacement part except for the

strap and the aftermarket buckle here

these are dolphin hands and the hands

are scratched up

this machine's currently running only

about three seconds fast and

i have to give a salute to my watchmaker

for that he's really such an expert in

fact his teacher

came from the james bulova school of

watchmaking

these straps here they fit a

7.25 inch wrist or seven and a half inch

wrist snug thanks for watching vintage
