Omega is a Swiss luxury watchmaker founded in 1848 but operated under the name of La Generale until 1903 when the company changed its name to Omega. In 1984 Omega changed its name again to Omega SA, reflecting the new ownership resulting with Omega being a subsidiary of the Swatch group.
